Hatem's post-disciplinary practice mediates cultural intersections with the environment, orbiting the expansive domain of environmental justice arts and humanities. Their praxis unfolds in response to the destructive repercussions of nature–culture and human–animal dualities. Currently pursuing a Master in Environmental Studies and a Curatorial Practice Diploma at York University, Hatem’s ongoing research weaves a multi-modal study on the entanglements of paradisal imaginaries with environmental catastrophe, utilizing visual culture as both an analytical tool and a medium to curate and produce works and spaces that interrupt, reframe, and reconsider Edenic imaginaries.
